There are three possible levels of water restriction which may be implemented when needed. Each of these is explained below. To find out if JFRWD customers are currently under a Phase Restriction, see the Current Events page. It is the purpose and intention of this management plan to insure the safety and well being of the citizens of Sebastian and Scott counties. Conservation is the first step in avoiding serious problems of demand on James Fork Regional Water District's water transmission and distribution system.

Phase 1 Restrictions

  • All outdoor watering by the user is allowed on an odd-even system.
  • Locations with even-numbered addresses will use water on even-numbered days.
  • Locations with odd-numbered addresses will use water on odd-numbered days.

Phase 2 Restrictions

  • Lawn watering is prohibited
  • Car washing, swimming pool or fountain filling is prohibited(not applicable to commercial car washes).
  • Shrubs, plants, trees and gardens may be watered only with hand held hoses, directly from faucets only (no sprinkler systems allowed).

The above uses of outdoor watering are permitted only the following days:

  • Locations with even-numbered addresses will water on even-numbered days.
  • Locations with odd-numbered addresses will water on odd-numbered days.

Phase 3 Restrictions

Did you know that...

A lot more water comes out of a faucet than we realize.

  • A tiny drip of water can add up to 15 gallons per day.
  • A small stream 1/32 of an inch adds up to 25 gallons per day.
  • A stream of 1/16 of an inch loses 100 gallons per day.
  • A stream of 1/8 of an inch loses 400 gallons per day.
  • A stream of 1/4 of an inch loses 1,600 gallons per day.
  • A stream of 1/2 of an inch loses 6,400 gallons per day.
